February

February is a month of in-between – still deeply connected to the quietness of winter, yet already carrying subtle signs of the coming spring. Cool blues, soft greens and turquoise create a vast, almost weightless space. They evoke crisp winter air, frozen landscapes and the particular light of those days when nature is slowly beginning to breathe again.

Within this space, four colorful formations float like small islands of life. Their delicate structures evoke flowers, ice crystals, seed pods and the first tender shoots of spring. They are not literal representations of nature, but condensed impressions – traces of something already taking shape beneath the surface.

White splashes and fine dots move across the painting like snowflakes or reflections of light. Among them, small accents of red and orange create unexpected impulses. They feel like tiny sparks of warmth and vitality finding their way through the coolness of winter.

The four formations appear separate, yet they are connected by the shared color field surrounding them. Together, they create a quiet rhythm – a movement between closeness and distance, stillness and motion, transience and renewal.

February speaks to me of a hope that has not yet found its voice. Of something that already exists, even though it has not yet become visible. Nature may appear to be resting, yet beneath the surface, something is already at work. Beneath the earth, energy gathers; buds are waiting; the light is returning.

February thus becomes a symbol of life’s quiet beginnings – of patience, anticipation and the understanding that change often begins long before we are able to see it.

February is the quiet breath before blooming – cool, delicate and filled with hidden life.
