In the first image a wide-breathing, almost limitless blue…a place without a fixed horizon…no dramatic center…no loud event…no definite movement. A pull that does not compel but at first glance brings everything near to it…as if everything were being drawn inward. Elements fall into a kind of orbit…feel their way, tip over…reorganize…change directions…and while the pull in the middle remains diffuse, without a clear edge or shape, the large red triangle is the opposite…sharp, decisive, almost defiantly present…as if saying, ‘I am here.’ The triangle, the decision…as an unconscious act…a will…an attitude and perhaps even a protection against losing oneself. The pull…the possibility…the unconscious, an inner center that works without being visible…a thought, a feeling, or a decision that has not yet been spoken…it feels like the heart of the image…not beating loudly, but pulsing silently. Perhaps that is exactly the point where the image touches…not where something is clearly recognizable, but where one is drawn in.
The second image is like a sigh. While the first rather pulled inward, here the space opens up. The blue is brighter, airier, almost permeable. It feels less like an inner world…more like expanse, like a moment when something clears up. The large golden triangle is no longer a silent object; it is like an arrow, a ray, a path…an impulse that clearly stretches in one direction…it is not just simply there…it moves. Where in the first picture there was still circling, here there is a path… where there was previously searching, there is now alignment. The dynamics are no longer diffuse, but purposeful. Everything seems to be working in a common direction. And yet it remains light… nothing feels heavy or forced. Where I would have fought the pull before, it is transformed here. In this way, both images do not depict a static state, but a transition… a moment that cannot be held… but is felt very clearly. Maybe that’s exactly it…no escape, no dissolution, but going on under changed conditions. In the first image, the contradiction still remains a struggle between pull and form…a simultaneous being drawn in and asserting oneself, while in the second image it becomes the supporting force that allows clear direction to emerge from inner tension…a state in which contradiction does not disappear, but becomes sustainable.

“…Point!”

I searched for a long time, layered, built up, and discarded again. In the past, there was abundance, color, movement in many directions. Now I reduce. Not out of renunciation, but out of clarity. What remains is condensation – a concentrate of what is essential. The lines run through the space like thoughts, decisions, possibilities. They intersect, contradict, converge, and pass by each other. In them lies tension, movement, an inner struggle for order. It is not chaos, but a field of forces that are allowed to manifest. And in the midst of it, I place a point. This point is not a circle, not a shape that expands. It is the opposite: concentration, a pause, a placement. It is neither the beginning nor the end – but a clear “Here I stand.” A conscious position amidst all possibilities. Still, but not quiet. Simply there. The blue carries this image. It opens a space of depth, of thought, of inner expansiveness. It preserves the movement without calming it. The warm colors appear only sporadically – like impulses, like memories of energy, of feeling, of liveliness. They no longer push themselves to the forefront; they set accents.
I no longer paint to fill or to please. I paint to make visible what cannot be put into words. This picture is not an offer, but a statement.
I have chosen.

“A quiet afterwards…I am no longer in the place where everything inside me was pressed and pulled. Something has loosened – not suddenly, not completely, but noticeably. The tightness has not disappeared, yet it has lost its weight. What was once concentrated is now more spread out. It is still there, but it no longer holds me in the same way. Inside me, there is a calm, which is not complete silence. Rather, a resonance – as if something inside me is still lingering without compressing again. I notice that I have space again. Thoughts come and go, without getting entangled immediately. Feelings remain, but they no longer stand so close together. Perhaps this is the moment after the inner pressure, when nothing dissolves, but many things redistribute. I hold nothing in this state. I rather observe how everything organizes itself a little, without me having to intervene. ‘A quiet after’ is not a conclusion for me. It is what remains when something inside me yields – and I begin to feel that I am becoming a little bigger again.

Nearly still

I am in no state of true calm, but close to it. There is still movement within me, but it is no longer disordered. The lines follow something I did not plan, and yet it seems as if they have already found their place, without having fully arrived. The tension is still there – I feel it clearly. But it no longer presses as it did before. It quiets down, holds back, almost as if it does not want to overwhelm me further. There is much happening within me at the same time: thoughts that still touch each other but no longer overlap. Feelings that have lost none of their intensity but change their expression. Perhaps it is a pause that I did not consciously take, but that simply arose – from exhaustion, from being overwhelmed, or from the quiet wish to keep the world at a distance for a moment. In doing so, I do not truly withdraw. It is more of a subtle shift within me: away from the outside, toward something that is calmer, but not empty. Something that carries me without being loud. ‘Nearly silent’ is not a state I have achieved. It is a moment when the pressing eases — and I begin to feel that something quieter inside me is making space.

When It Becomes Quiet

These works did not arise from a new idea.
They emerged from what remained of what was already there.

In the series “The Quiet Densification,” the focus was on endurance—
allowing less, without knowing whether it would hold.
The forms became clearer, the images calmer—
and at the same time, the question arose of whether that was enough.

I did not know where this would lead.
I only sensed that I could not go back.

In this new series, something has changed.
Not because I altered anything,
but because my way of seeing has shifted.

The reduction is no longer uncertain.
It no longer needs to prove itself.
It simply exists.

The lines appear clearer,
not because they are more rigid,
but because they can stand on their own.

Colors recede or come forward
without needing to be balanced by me.
Relationships emerge
without being forced.

What was once open
begins to find its order.
Not visible as a system,
but perceptible as a connection.

I still work in the same way.
I begin without a plan.
I respond to what unfolds.

But something has shifted.
I doubt less
whether it is enough.
I recognize more readily
when something is right.

“when it becomes quiet” does not describe a state that is produced.
It is rather the moment
when doubt grows quieter
and something else becomes audible.

Perhaps this, too, is not only about
what can be seen,
but about what happens
when one no longer works against
what wants to reveal itself.

The Quiet Condensation

I did not plan these works.
I began—and I stayed.
As always, I did not know what would emerge.

As with all my works, I let myself drift.
I placed lines, allowed forms to take shape,
responded to what was already there.

In my earlier works, much was more open.
Circles, waves, flowing movements—
many forms that could connect without committing.

In this series, something has changed.
The lines have become clearer.
The forms align themselves.
Relationships no longer simply arise—they demand something.

It is less about expansion,
more about condensation.
Less about movement,
more about the moment in which everything is decided.

My previous images were light.
Open, almost playful.
These here are tighter, quieter, denser.

There were moments when I wanted to stop,
because it was “good” and because it was not “good.”
I did not know—was it enough?
Is this all that fills my image?
Is this all my soul has to say?

And at the same time, there was this quiet feeling:
There is still something more.

The most difficult part was not the painting,
but enduring it.
Not resolving things immediately,
not going back,
but staying where it becomes uncertain.

For me, the series “The Quiet Condensation” is a movement:
from emergence to decision.
From an open space
to a point where something becomes clear.

The final piece had not really been planned.
I only knew: something was still missing.
And I had to follow it.

Perhaps these works are not only about
what can be seen,
but about what happens
when one no longer avoids oneself.

Shapes Surface Flow… encompasses the interplay of clarity, space, and movement… a threefold relationship that supports and permeates Witzig’s work. The shapes…circles, triangles, and rectangles are for Witzig not just basic geometric elements, but living carriers of meaning and emotion. Each circle symbolizes for Witzig a core…a center…a source of energy and infinity. The triangles open directions and tensions, bringing dynamics into the image, while the rectangles provide stability and structure. Together they form an architectural language that is very precise but always open to interpretation. These shapes do not simply float in isolation but are embedded in a luminous expanse of warm orange and yellow tones, resembling a radiant sunrise. For Witzig, this surface is more than just a background… it is the living space in which everything unfolds. It creates atmosphere, depth, and connects the shapes into a harmonious whole. The warm colors represent warmth, energy, and joy of life; they are the emotional foundation of the composition. The flow is what brings Witzig’s images to life… the fine lines, the dynamic strokes, and the rhythmic arrangement of the small circles create movement and pulse. It is an organic flow, a dance of elements that fills static geometry with life. This flow reminds Witzig that even the seemingly rigid is in a state of flux and that movement and change are the essence of life. “Form. Surface. Flow.” is for Witzig a meditation on the balance between order and freedom…between structure and energy. It is an invitation to pause and perceive the quiet power of forms…to feel the space…to sense the flow and let oneself be carried by harmony. The work is understood as an impressive metaphor for the constant interplay between order and movement…a symphony in three acts that inspires and moves.

“What the storm does not take”…

is a memory of the sea…of the wind on my skin…of the salt that resonates within me. The deep, vibrating blue on the canvas…a mirror of my own inner turmoil…a phase in which thoughts, feelings, and impulses rage through me like a storm…I myself trapped in a storm…stirred up and full of motion…emotions colliding with each other like waves against rocks. The circles, lines, and spirals are like responses to the storm within me – visible impulses that dance, push, twist, and circle around each other as if they want to probe the pent-up energy. They are the echo of my excitement, my turmoil, my thoughts colliding like waves. Every line, every spiral is a breath, a pulse, a moment in which my chaos becomes tangible.

And yet, in the midst of all this movement, something remains untouched: a quiet spark, a soft echo, an essence that no storm can shake. Like a ray of light piercing through turbulent water, like a crystal that withstands the surf, it preserves calm, steadiness, an invisible strength that endures everything. In these untouched points lies the quiet certainty that what truly matters…memory…inner strength…a part of myself…cannot be destroyed or swept away by any storm.

For me, this painting is a space where chaos and calm, movement and stillness, excitement and memory meet. The forces that touch me… the energies that move me… they keep circling… endlessly, quietly, steadily… they set accents, organize, create rhythm. They act like thoughts that bring order while emotions remain free. Tension meets harmony… like energy meets structure. Movement and rest are possible at the same time and coexist… sometimes ambivalent… but always in between… the anchor points… small islands that the storm cannot carry away.

“Within the Realm of Possibility”

…a work that in the background creates an emotional undercurrent of warm yellow and orange tones, floating and shimmering diffusely…they carry what exists before any order…thoughts, feelings, inner impulses. The shapes lie upon this field, are held by it, and at the same time are put under tension…in this living, restless space, stability emerges, which is never static, but always in process.

The many triangles create a system of movement, order, and tension. They represent orientation, support, and structure, but they are not rigid…they overlap, collide, and their effect changes with color, size, and position…The circles introduce rhythm and vitality, oscillating among the triangles, breaking apart, connecting, or representing recurring thoughts and feelings. The combination of these elements creates a balance between control and unrest, between order and chaos…a picture that is simultaneously stable and in motion.

A visual and thematic focal point of the work, for me, is the round, closed neon circle with a thick red outline at the tip of the blue triangle, as well as the neon-orange semicircle that distinctly encloses the triangle’s tip. While the circle within the triangle acts like an inner core, almost dominant and rigid at the triangle’s peak, the semicircle remains open…incomplete and, above all, vulnerable…it resists order and demands attention…Both elements clearly express the ambivalence between chaos and order…between freedom and limitation…between control and inner impulses.

The personal development becomes especially intriguing when observing the large red triangle, whose tip, unlike in my previous works, points downward rather than upward. It feels heavier, grounding, and corporeal. The triangle…for me, it primarily symbolizes stability, yet here it emerges not through ascent, but through holding…bearing and enduring…the red reinforces this impression…it shows that this stability is not neutral, but emotionally carried and charged with tension. This is not about higher, further, faster…here it is about grounding, consciously accepting limits, and remaining in the here and now.

Overall, the painting reflects my inner state…stability that is not taken for granted, movement that simultaneously needs support, and order that only arises within the tension between chaos and control. The work negotiates the boundaries of structure, the dialogue between freedom and limitation, between control and inner impulse.

This is further emphasized and enhanced by the color design of the individual elements…Blue appears cool, analytical, structuring…Red carries energy, presence, and intensity…Yellow and orange create warmth, movement, and emotional depth. Light areas open up spaces in between, where nothing is closed off and everything remains possible.

Everything remains
within the realm of possibility –
not out of weakness,
but out of awareness.

The polite chaos in pastels is a gentle dance of shapes and colors, a space where disorder whispers softly. Circles touch each other like thoughts that brush past, overlap, disappear, and reappear. Lines add accents, guide without commanding – like paths we take within ourselves, sometimes confident, sometimes hesitant. Everything moves without anything colliding; everything speaks without shouting. The pastels carry the picture like a delicate whisper of the soul: pink, yellow, blue, and green tell of curiosity, hope, wonder, and quiet melancholy. They are not loud; they are polite – and that is precisely their charm: they open spaces where we can recognize our own little disorders, which we usually try to hide. Here, chaos is not shown as a threat but as an invitation. An invitation to let go, to listen, to pause, and to feel life in the subtle deviations. In every overlay, every shift, there is a story of its own – our story. The shapes speak of encounter, of movement, of the quiet joy in the in-between. This work is a portrait of the silent tensions that surround us and live within us: between order and freedom, safety and play, control and letting go. And therein lies its magic – a polite chaos that doesn’t disturb, but supports; that doesn’t confuse, but inspires. It is a moment that pauses, a rest for the eye, a breath for the soul.
