‘State X’ describes an inner moment in which contradictory forces are at work simultaneously. Order is being established, while at the same time it is questioned and in the next moment completely torn apart. ‘State X’ is a snapshot of inner simultaneity. Structure, movement, and stillness occur simultaneously and exist in a fragile tension with one another, without resolving or dissolving. Geometric shapes and lines refer to the attempt to establish stability, orientation, and control. At the same time, circular movements disrupt this order and open the image to a need for expansiveness, breath, and inner peace. No element ultimately prevails. Everything remains present, everything claims space. In this way, a state of heightened density emerges, in which opposites are not reconciled but consciously held side by side.
