“Charisma”...
…a work of art with a title that initially seems a bit unusual, because charisma is typically attributed more to people than to paintings. I must admit, I was quite unsettled at first, even though many would say that it represents true artistic freedom to name your work however you like, and then it doesn’t matter at all that my artwork is called “Charisma,” because for me it possesses that certain something with an incredibly strong energetic presence. When I’m looking for a title for my paintings, I always sit in front of them and wait for inspiration. When the picture is actually finished, then a lot of insights and ideas come automatically, and then it rattles and rattles. If this state does not occur, then I know the picture is not yet finished. Sometimes, it’s just very small fine nuances that the picture still lacks, but they are very important… because then the picture is still missing a little piece of soul to become what it truly expresses. This can be in the form of color or elements. When I thought ‘Charisma’ was finished, for example, the two bright neon-colored circles at the top and bottom were missing. At first glance, they seem closed, but they are not. The black semicircular border is meant to show that the circle within me has still not closed, but is still half open. Triangles, circles, and lines once again… connected and supported by the creatively inspiring violet, the warming pink, but also the energetic neon orange. Yet these geometric shapes are not perfect or complete. It is a kind of visual representation of my journey, my uncertainties, but also my willingness to evolve. It is an honest reflection of my inner world, in which I do not want to hide. I want to openly show my feelings and thoughts because development, and especially the growth of self-worth, always lies in the process and not in the perfect finish. It’s okay to be incomplete – it makes us human and unique. My form of art is the perfect way for me to confront and overcome certain expectations or inner barriers. My art may be too specific, but it is authentic in any case, and I am convinced that authenticity is the key to charisma.
